When selecting products for play areas, several considerations come into play. The height of the product should deter easy climbing or slipping through by children, and closely spaced vertical railings ensure safety and visibility. Smooth, flush surfaces are essential to prevent injuries, and the product must be free of sharp edges or protruding parts. Durability, weather resistance, and low-maintenance features are crucial for outdoor use, with adherence to safety standards being of utmost importance.

Enter the EnviroRail® Play Sec Railing Gate – a seamlessly designed addition to complement the EnviroRail® Play Sec Railing range.

Features and Benefits

Crafted with an innovative and eco-conscious approach, the EnviroRail® Play Sec Gate stands out for its reduced eco-impact during production. Using a series of bespoke, laser-cut components pressed together for robust bonds, this technique minimises energy-intensive welding, resulting in pressed bonds as sturdy as their welded counterparts. This approach aligns with our customer preferences for lowered environmental impact during manufacturing.

Each EnviroRail® Play Sec Gate Kit is constructed from pre-galvanised steel meeting BS 10346 standards, and coated with polyester powder for durability against harsh outdoor elements. This double-layer protection ensures reliable functionality and preserves aesthetic appeal for years.

Each EnviroRail® kit is comprised of hollow tubular sections. These hollow tubes provide an incredibly high level of strength whilst helping to keep the weight to a minimum, making handling, transport and installation much easier.

The EnviroRail® gate range offers full modularity and a lightweight system for quick installation, accommodating a range of gate hardware items. Universally designed, these gates provide on-site flexibility without specific right or left-hand specifications, simplifying installation decision-making. This modular functionality allows easy adjustments, providing adaptability that fixed hardware cannot offer.

The single leaf gate kit comprises a hinge and catch post, a Play Sec Railing leaf, and three adjustable gate eyes. With three hinges ensuring compliance with BS 12604, safety is guaranteed even in the rare event of one hinge failing. The gate hooks, fully welded to the gate post, establish a fixed-axis hinge, eliminating any vertical movement.

Pre-drilled holes make it easy to attach gate eyes and a drop bolt, plastic plugs are included to cover any unused holes on the gate's attack face. Compatible with security locks, the gate allows for up to 30mm of adjustment from the catch post, ensuring easy installation. The UniSlide Slider Single Gate Kit comes included with all EnviroRail single gates, ensuring a secure and smooth sliding mechanism for reliable operation.

Safety Compliance

Rails are set at 100mm centres to prevent entrapment, and top bows are 90mm to prevent wrist or neck traps. The design and manufacture of the EnviroRail® Play Sec Railing Gate comply with BS EN 1176 regulations.

The gate offers 50mm ground clearance when correctly installed, opening 90° in and out as a single leaf gate.

Available in various heights and widths, these gates come in dig-in or bolt-down versions, suitable for diverse environments. For the dig-in variant, Post Mix needs to be added to the order, and the bolt-down version requires four M16 x 125mm ground anchor bolts per post.
