When the proportions of a development require staff to work at height then there will be a multitude of things to take into consideration, but employee health and safety will be a priority.
Someone labouring at ground level must be kept safe from work happening at a higher level. Working at height will put the employee at risk of falls and building debris will need to be secured; this debris or even a falling tool can cause serious or fatal injuries to a person below.
To address this, an edge protector system will be a good choice. It is installed on the outer edge of construction site that is at height. The protector comprises a framed mesh panel with a toe board at the bottom edge. When the barrier is in place it will provide a sense of containment and safety for the employee. They are seen as easy to put in place due to the fact they don’t require any specialist skills.
Edge Protectors combine strength and durability with ease of use. They are light weight making them easy to transport to the site and to where they are to be deployed.
This particular panel measures 1000mm height x 2600mm width and is manufactured from galvanised steel and Polyester Powder Coated in RAL 5015 as standard. Both the galvanising and the PPC provide the panel with a robust barrier to damage and corrosion, but also present a professional finish to the barrier system when it is in place.
These panels have an easy lock system that attach the posts to the panels. Once in the locked position it will not move until unlocked again.
