For assembly, use heavy-duty wood screws (like 6×90mm yellow zinc wood screws, requiring a 5mm HSS pilot hole) or, for extra rigidity, M8 cup square hex bolts with M8 × 30mm repair washers, M8 nuts, and M8 dome nuts.
