Intermediate strainer posts play a crucial role in agricultural fencing. They are stronger and more durable than regular line posts, built to handle wire tension and keep the fence secure. Placed at strategic intervals along the fence, they provide stability and help ensure lasting performance.
The intermediate strainer post kit includes one 2.1m x 125/150mm post and two 2.4m x 75/100mm struts. Produced using the Cundy peeling method, the timber retains its natural taper and rustic, varied diameter. It’s pressure-treated to UC4 standards or creosoted for durable protection against rot, decay, and insects.
Struts are angled supports between the strainer post and the ground that prevent leaning or movement under tension. Strainer posts are usually backfilled, while struts are set in quick-setting concrete for stability. Consider adding post mix to your order to really secure everything in place.
This kit is designed for use with 60cm to 120cm high stock fencing. There is a choice of Tanalised UC4 or Creosoted finishes. UC4 wood has been pressure-treated with preservatives and is suitable for direct ground contact.
This type of wooden fence post is ideal for livestock fencing, hiking trails, farm property boundaries and also in non-agricultural settings. Agricultural, garden or security fencing, tree support helping to secure young trees, landscaping, etc. Timber is a strong material and is durable and long-lasting in outdoor settings.
