This heavy duty load bearing cavity wall lintel has been designed for bearing heavy duty loads for cavity walls with a cavity width between 90mm to 105mm. With a wider inner leaf of 125mm, this lintel is suitable for use with inner blockwork with a maximum width of 150mm. The outer leaf has a width of 95mm and is suitable for standard brickwork.
The CFS/K-90 WIL range of lintels is available in 150mm increments starting from 750mm up to 4800mm, allowing for heavy duty load bearing support over a variety of opening lengths for various applications such as for doors or windows.
Please note: For correct installation of the lintel, a 150mm end bearing at each end is required. For example: if the opening is 1200mm then the lintel required will need to have an additional 300mm added to the length to accommodate the end bearings.
This range of standard load bearing lintels has been made from high quality pre-galvanised mild steel and satisfy the thermal performance requirements of England and Wales’ part L of the building regulations, Northern Ireland’s part F and Scotland’s technical handbook, section 6.
In order for this lintel to support the specified loads below, the lintel will need to be installed correctly.
The figures also take into account the different loading types which are common in traditional cavity wall construction. These lintels have been tested as a composite unit with surrounding masonry and have been built in accordance with BS EN 1996-2:2006. These figures have been acquired through testing in accordance with the requirements of standards BS 5977 Part 2: 1983 and BS EN 845-2:2003
