The 4m x 3m Timber Summer House in the 'Hemingway' style, is a functional addition to an outdoor space. The 'Hemingway' style wooden summer house or garden building, is manufactured from Finnish Spruce which has excellent strength-to-weight ratio making it very sound and ideal for construction projects. It generally has a straight and even grain pattern which makes it perfect for cutting and shaping. It has natural durability and is able to resist decay and, to some extent, fungal attacks. It has a lovely light colour which gives a bright, airy atmosphere to a garden building. Wood is a traditional choice for this type of structure and has a natural beauty which adds enduring appeal and will easily fit in with any garden or landscape design.
This wooden garden building measures 4m x 3m and has a flat roof with an overall height of 2.4m so planning permission will not be required. It has a wall depth of 28mm making it perfect for use as a shed or for seasonal use.
The 'Hemingway' model garden building has double doors on the front and a large single window on one of the sides. All the glass on this structure is double glazed and tempered which helps with heat transfer and reduces outside noise. The double doors provide good access when moving large items in and out of the shed.
This wooden garden building is for light domestic use and is ideal as a spacious workshop or storage shed for bikes, garden equipment and outdoor games, but also it could be used as a pleasant place to sit and enjoy the summer weather by adding a small sofa and some attractive soft furnishings.
Installation
The garden building comes in a flat pack format for home installation, which is relatively straightforward if you have some construction skills or are a confident DIY-er. Each pack comes with treated foundation or base beams which the house is built onto. It is recommended that it is installed onto a very firm, flat and secure base such as concrete or slabs and that this base is fixed to the ground with ground/expansion anchors (not included, recommended size M8 x 95mm).
The log boards fit together with their horizontal interlocking design and are secured with screws and wood pins. This product comes with full installation guide and fixings, it will need staining or painting within a month of installation. You may also need a spirit level, tape measure, power drill/screwdriver and a rubber mallet to gently manipulate the wall beams into place.
