Product Description

2.0m Recycled Plastic Post to suit 1.5m Closed Board System

Closed board fencing is a style of fencing that provides solid coverage and privacy. It is also known as feather edge fencing. It is constructed of vertical boards that are securely fixed to horizontal rails attached to posts. This type of fencing is very popular due to the sturdy construction, versatility, and ability to create a strong, private boundary.

Since the boards leave no gaps, closed board fencing provides complete privacy, and the solid structure enhances security by making it difficult to see through or climb over. When properly constructed and maintained, closed board fencing is highly durable and able to withstand variable weather conditions. Its simple, clean lines make it suitable for many applications, including residential boundaries, garden enclosures, commercial and industrial boundaries, and agricultural fencing.

It is typically made from timber; however, there are other, modern, sustainable materials available too, including recycled plastic.

Introducing Recycled Plastic Closed Board Fencing

First Fence's line of recycled plastic closed board fencing is manufactured from Plaswood, a material made from recycled materials. Plaswood is an innovative and durable material that gives the look of real wood but with the benefits of being able to endure severe weather conditions, including extreme temperature fluctuations, UV exposure, and moisture. Unlike its real-wood counterpart, recycled plastic does not rot, warp, or be susceptible to insect infestation, and does not splinter. The product and the raw materials are tested by independent experts to ensure quality control, and the recycling process transforms waste into new supplies.

This 2.0m recycled plastic post is for use with the 1.5m closed board fencing system. This system is available in black or brown.

It is recommended that 500mm of this post be dug into the ground with one bag of post mix per post. Posts are installed at 1.5m post centre intervals. To fix the posts, rails and pales together, use twin flight, parallel thread, coarse pitch screws similar to those used with wooden particle boards or hi-low screws. Please note that these do not come with the product.

Recycled plastic closed board fencing is customisable and versatile, allowing you to make a fencing run of any length. It is ideal for those looking for a low-maintenance, eco-friendly, and durable fencing option, combining the strength and longevity of plastic with the aesthetic appeal of wood.

Recycled plastic fencing requires little to no maintenance once it has been correctly installed; however, it is good practice to check all fencing connections periodically to ensure integrity and make any repairs as soon as they are spotted.
