Providing a safe, secure and cost-effective form of perimeter demarcation, the 1.8m High Standard Bow Top Railings are an ideal choice for creating barriers and perimeters in a variety of public and private spaces such as parks, homes and schools. Each bay has been made to our highest standards from high quality galvanised steel, providing a perimeter which will look great and remain strong for many years. Each of these kits comes supplied with a 1.8m high bow top panel, a post (either dig in or bolt down) and fixings for assembly. These railings can be further customised with the use of a Polyester Powder Coating (PPC) which can help to create a fantastic looking perimeter in a wide range of RAL colours.
1.8m High Standard Bow Top Railings are an excellent choice in creating effective perimeters for a wide range of locations such as schools, parks, playgrounds and gardens. The bow top design of these railings provides a strong and robust construction whilst also removing the number of corners and points which may cause injury, making them suitable for areas where there may be children playing.
Each of the Bow Top Railing panels consists of a series of “bows” which comprise of 16mm diameter tubes which have been bent to form these bow sections. These are then held securely in place with two 10mm thick horizontal bars, one running along the bottom and one 150mm from the top of the panel. To support these panels, 70mm x 70mm hollow box section posts (available in either dig in or bolt down variants) are used with a supporting leg which can be installed for additional strength and stability.
As standard, these 1.8m High Standard Bow Top Railings are available with a galvanised finish. This zinc coating helps to protect the steel against the damaging effects of weathering and rust, helping these railings to maintain their silver finish for much longer than untreated steel. These railings can also be customised further with the use of a Polyester Powder Coating. These coatings give each railing bay a smooth and professionally applied finish in a range of RAL colours, which allows for an aesthetically pleasing perimeter to be created. These coatings also provide an additional function in providing an additional layer of protection against weathering and rust formation.
In the unlikely and unfortunate event of the powder coating on your railings becoming damaged through accidental damage or general wear and tear, it is quick and easy to restore these coatings with the use of a touch up spray can
These railing kits are available with either dig in or bolt down posts, allowing for installation in a wide range of locations on a variety of ground types.
Dig in posts – The dig in posts have been designed for use on soft ground types where it is easy for holes to be dug. These posts are longer than their bolt down counterparts, allowing for them to be placed into the hole and secured in place with the use of post mix
Bolt down posts – The bolt down post has been made for use in environments where it may not be possible for holes to be dug for various reasons such as time or financial constraints. These posts are supplied with base plates which are pre-drilled with holes in each corner, allowing for quick, easy and secure installation into ground surfaces such as concrete with the use of ground anchor bolts
Each 1.8m High Bow Top Railing kit comes with the following items:
Step One: Drill a 6mm pilot hole in the desired location for the new cleat; this is dictated by the gradient.
Step Two: Open the hole to a 12mm hole size to take the M10 bolts (as listed in the step below).
Step Three: Touch up and spray the hole, if required.
Step Four: Attach the cleat using the M10 x 70mm Square Cup Head Bolt and Shear Nut (for 0.9m to 1.2m height system) or M10 x 80mm Square Cup Head Bolt and Shear Nut (1.5m to 2.4m height systems).
Step Five: Attach the railing panel as per standard installation guidance.
Note: Please ensure the spacing relationships are followed according to the existing hole centres on the posts.
It is possible to have a Bow Top Railing gate to match these railings and create a secure point of access for authorised persons or vehicles. These gates are available in a range of widths with either a single or double leaf design to suit any requirements. Much like the railing kits, these gates are available with either dig in or bolt down posts and can be customised with a Polyester Powder Coating in a range of RAL colours.
