Product Description

1.8m High Chain Link System with Cranked Concrete Posts - Calculator

The First Fence Chain Link Fencing System with Cranked Concrete Posts delivers a strong, low-maintenance perimeter ideal for residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural use. It combines galvanised chain link mesh for flexibility and visibility, with the superior durability of precast concrete posts.

This system features cranked posts.  This type of post has an angled ‘crank’ at the top that points outward from the secured area.  When used with chain link fencing, the chain link mesh is fixed to the vertical part of the post, while the cranked section is used to support additional security toppings such as barbed wire or razor wire.

Key Features

  • Angled Top Extension: The defining feature is the ‘crank’ at the top, designed to create an anti-climb barrier.
  • Precast Concrete Posts: These posts are resistant to rust, rot, fire and pests, making them ideal for demanding environments.
  • Galvanised Chain Link Mesh: Weather-resistant and corrosion-proof, available in various gauges and heights to suit different security requirements.
  • High-Tension Support: Concrete strainer and corner posts provide a stable foundation, preventing sagging and maintaining long-term fence tension.
  • Clean, Professional Finish: Clean lines and precise installation create a polished appearance while preserving both security and visibility.
  • Low Maintenance: Eliminates the need for painting, sealing or rust protection, offering a single-installation solution with long-lasting durability.

Applications

  • Residential Perimeters: Provides a secure, low-maintenance boundary without obstructing visibility.

  • Schools and Sports Facilities: Ideal for defining safe, controlled areas while maintaining clear sightlines.

  • Industrial Sites and Warehouses: Offers a durable security solution capable of withstanding demanding environments.

  • Farms and Livestock Enclosures: Suitable for protecting livestock, equipment, and agricultural land.

  • Public Infrastructure and Utilities: Reliable perimeter protection for substations, transport hubs, and service compounds.

Build Your System

First Fence has everything you need to build your chain link fencing system, from posts and chain link rolls to hog ring clips and hog ring guns.

To make planning easy, use our fencing calculator: Simply enter your required meterage to determine how many rolls of chain link you'll need (each roll includes the line wire).

Next, choose your posts based on your site and fencing layout. You’ll need end posts to start and terminate your fencing run, intermediate posts are used along the run between your end posts, use corner posts for changing direction, and two-way strainer posts are used every 30m on straight runs (in place of one intermediate post).  Posts are set at 3.0m intervals.

The cranked post system comes with a choice of corner post set-up.  Select from a cranked in or out format; with the cranked out post, the struts are placed on the opposite side to the crank; the cranked in post has the strut on the same side as the crank.

Add chain link hog ring clips to secure the fencing to tension wires or to support structures, hog ring clip pliers to fix your hog rings securely and rapid set post mix for a sturdy in-ground installation.  With the right components and layout, creating a secure, durable fence is simple. It is recommended that the hog ring clips be fixed at 300mm intervals.
