1.2m High Standard Ball Top Railings are an incredibly stylish way to create boundaries in domestic, industrial or public settings for a range of applications, such as providing demarcation between properties or creating protective perimeters around trees and flower beds in parks to prevent damage or vandalism. Each 1.2m High Standard ball Top Railing Kit has been made from galvanised steel and is available with either a galvanised steel finish or with a high-quality and professionally applied Polyester Powder Coating.
The 1.2m High Standard Ball Top Railings are an alternative take on Vertical Bar Railings (add link). The major difference between the Vertical Bar Railings and these Standard Ball Top Railings is that each vertical bar is topped with an aesthetically pleasing galvanised steel ball. As well as adding a touch of style to your perimeter, the ball tops also help to remove sharp edges or points from the tops of the railings.
Each bay kit has been constructed from galvanised steel, ensuring it remains strong and stable for many years to come. The galvanised zinc coating provides protection for the steel, creating a barrier against the detrimental effects of corrosion and weathering.
The 1.2m High Standard Ball Top railing panel consists of 12mm thick vertical railing bars, each topped with a 25mm diameter ball. Each of these railing bars is held in place by the two 8mm-thick horizontal bars, one running near the bottom and one near the top. To securely support these railing bays, 50mm hollow box-section posts are used, available as either a dig-in or a bolt-down version.
Each bay of 1.2m High Standard Ball Top Railings comes with a galvanised steel finish as standard, which gives these bays a silver-coloured appearance. If, however, you are looking for something a little more colourful, these railing kits are also available with a Polyester Powder Coating (PPC), which is available in a wide range of RAL colours. These professionally applied coatings not only look great but also provide an additional layer of protection against rust and corrosion.
It is possible to install these railing kits on a variety of ground types, with dig in or bolt down posts available to suit your requirements.
Dig in posts: The dig in posts are suited to locations where the ground type is soft enough to allow for holes to be dug. These posts are longer than the bolt-down version, allowing for a section of the post to be placed into the hole and then secured in place with the use of post mix
Bolt down posts: Bolt down posts are supplied with a base plate attached, which allows for ground anchor bolts to be drilled into the ground to hold the post securely in place. These posts are suited towards surfaces where it may not be possible to dig holes.
A 1.2m High Standard Ball Top Railing kit comes with the following:
Step One: Drill a 6mm pilot hole in the desired location for the new cleat; the gradient dictates this.
Step Two: Open the hole to a 12mm hole size to take the M10 bolts (as listed in the step below).
Step Three: Touch up and spray the hole, if required.
Step Four: Attach the cleat using the M10 x 70mm Square Cup Head Bolt and Shear Nut (for 0.9m to 1.2m height systems) or M10 x 80mm Square Cup Head Bolt and Shear Nut (1.5m to 2.4m height systems).
Step Five: Attach the railing panel as per standard installation guidance.
Note: Please ensure the spacing relationships are followed according to the existing hole centres on the posts.
