Our Sawn Softwood Field Gates offer a traditional and reliable solution for agricultural and rural entrances. Designed for strength, practicality, and ease of installation, these gates are built from durable softwood and pressure-treated for long-lasting protection in outdoor conditions.
Rugged & Dependable: Constructed from rough-sawn softwood, these gates are strong enough to withstand everyday use on farms, paddocks, and rural properties.
Weather-Resistant: Pressure-treated to UC4 standards, protecting against rot, decay, and insect damage for long-term reliability.
Traditional Agricultural Design: A classic open framework with robust horizontal rails provides both visibility and ventilation while retaining livestock securely.
Straightforward Installation: Compatible with standard agricultural gate fittings and designed for easy hanging between timber posts.
Cost-Effective Solution: Offers a practical and affordable alternative to metal or hardwood gates while maintaining solid performance.
Each Sawn Softwood Field Gate is designed for agricultural and countryside use, combining functional simplicity with proven durability. Manufactured from rough-sawn softwood, the timber is pressure-treated to UC4 standards, giving it a long service life even in exposed environments.
The design features sturdy horizontal rails and vertical stiles joined with traditional mortise and tenon joints, providing excellent strength and rigidity. The open structure allows wind to pass through freely, reducing strain on the frame and ensuring dependable stability throughout the year.
These gates are suitable for use with our pressure treated sawn gate posts, as well as other materials, such as brick walls. Metal posts are not recommended for use with this range. Gates can be hung from either side and paired with standard hinges and latches for secure installation.
Sawn Softwood Field Gates are ideal for:
Field and paddock entrances
Agricultural driveways and farm tracks
Livestock enclosures
Stable yards and equestrian sites
Rural property access points
These gates are well-suited for working environments where functionality and longevity take priority. For added protection, they can be treated with exterior wood oils or stains to help preserve colour and finish over time.
