Our timber posts and stock fencing offer a natural, durable solution for agricultural and rural fencing needs, combining traditional craftsmanship with long-lasting performance.
Strong & Long-Lasting: Timber posts create a sturdy framework, while high-tensile netting resists pressure effectively.
Budget-Friendly: A more economical choice than metal fencing, yet built for durability.
Simple to Install & Maintain: Requires few tools and allows for easy adjustments when needed.
Multi-Purpose: Ideal for containing livestock, protecting crops, and marking property boundaries.
Environmentally Friendly: Made from sustainable timber, requiring less energy to produce than metal alternatives.
Intermediate strainer posts are important to agricultural fencing, stronger and more robust than standard line posts; they’re designed to bear the tension of wire and maintain the integrity of the fence. Strategically spaced along the fence line, they ensure stability and long-term performance.
The intermediate strainer post kit includes one 2.4m x 150/175mm strainer post and two 2.4m x 75/100mm struts. Made using the Cundy peeling method, which removes the bark while preserving the post’s natural taper, these components feature a rustic, non-uniform diameter (e.g., 150/175mm reflects this variation along the length). The timber is pressure-treated to UC4 standards through tantalising, providing long-lasting protection against rot, fungal decay, and insect damage.
Struts are angled supports installed between the strainer post and the ground to provide crucial reinforcement, preventing the post from leaning or being pulled out of position under tension. Traditionally, strainer posts are driven into the ground and secured with backfill, while struts are typically set in concrete using a quick-setting product like post mix for added stability.
This type of wooden fence post is ideal for livestock fencing, hiking trails, farm property boundaries and also in non-agricultural settings. Agricultural, garden or security fencing, tree support helping to secure young trees, landscaping, etc. Timber is a strong material and is durable and long-lasting in outdoor settings. It is relatively easy to handle and install, which is useful in rural or remote areas.
