Product Description

Timber Intermediate Strainer Post Kit to Suit 60cm to 120cm One Inch Netting

Our timber posts and stock fencing range offers a strong, natural solution for rural and agricultural projects. Combining traditional design with dependable durability, they provide a fencing option that’s built to last.

Why Choose Timber Posts & Stock Fencing?

  • Strength & Stability: Timber posts form a reliable framework, paired with high-tensile netting that resists pressure effectively.
  • Budget-Friendly: More economical than steel fencing while still delivering strength.
  • Simple Installation: Quick to put up with minimal tools and easy to maintain.
  • Multi-Purpose: Ideal for livestock, crops, or marking property lines.
  • Environmentally Conscious: Produced from sustainable timber and less energy-intensive than metal alternatives.

About the Intermediate Strainer Post Kit

Intermediate strainer posts are essential for keeping fencing secure and under tension. More robust than line posts, they are strategically placed to enhance stability and extend the life of your fence.

This kit includes:

  • One 2.1m x 125/150mm strainer post
  • Two 2.4m x 75/100mm angled struts

Crafted using the Cundy peel technique, each post keeps its natural taper and rustic character. The timber is pressure-treated to UC4 standards or finished with creosote, giving long-lasting resistance to decay, insects, and moisture damage.

The struts provide diagonal support, bracing the strainer post against movement. For best results, posts are backfilled, while struts are set using fast-drying concrete. We recommend adding post mix to your order for extra stability.

Common Uses

These posts are well-suited for:

  • Livestock enclosures
  • Farm or estate boundaries
  • Public footpaths and trails
  • Garden or security fencing
  • Tree supports and landscaping projects

Timber’s natural strength, ease of handling, and resilience make it a practical choice, particularly in remote or outdoor environments.

First Fence also supplies a wide selection of agricultural fencing, from wire stock fencing and barbed wire to timber rail systems like knee rail and post-and-rail. For a sustainable alternative, our recycled plastic fencing provides the look of wood with added longevity and durability.
