Eco-Conscious Choice: Crafted from sustainable timber, with a lower environmental impact than metal fencing.
Intermediate strainer posts are important to agricultural fencing, more robust than standard line posts; they’re designed to bear the tension of wire and maintain the integrity of the fence. Strategically spaced along the fence line, they ensure stability and long-term performance.
The intermediate strainer post kit comes with one 2.4m x 150/175mm strainer post and two 2.4m x 75/100mm struts. Produced using the Cundy peeling process, which strips the bark but retains the wood’s natural taper, each piece has a rustic appearance with varying diameters along its length (e.g. 150/175mm indicates this natural variation). The timber is tanalised and pressure-treated to UC4 standards or creosoted, offering durable protection against rot, fungal decay, and insect attack.
Struts are angled supports positioned between the strainer post and the ground to provide essential reinforcement, helping to keep the post upright and stable under tension. Strainer posts are usually driven into the ground and held in place with backfill, while struts are commonly fixed in place with quick-setting concrete for added stability. like post mix for added stability.
This style of wooden fence post is perfect for livestock enclosures, hiking paths, farm boundaries, and various non-agricultural uses such as garden or security fencing, tree support for young plants, and landscaping. Timber is a sturdy, durable material that withstands outdoor conditions well. It’s also relatively simple to handle and install, making it especially practical for rural or remote locations.
