Modern construction projects often mean working at high levels and with this comes many issues to consider, a high priority one being the health and safety of workers.
When working at ground level the worker must be protected from what is happening above them, but also the labourer at height faces the risk of a fatal fall. Falling building debris can cause injury to those below, so must also factor in any decision making. An edge protection system is ideal and addresses these issues in an easy, cost-effective way.
An important component of this barrier system is the installation post. The standard installation post measures 1085mm in height with a 40x40mm box section and is made from galvanised steel. A bolt down foot secures the post in place and the panels attach to this and form a very secure barrier on the edge of your construction, giving those working above and below a sense of security.
These posts feature an easy lock system for attaching to the Edge Protectors. The lock has two positions, open and locked. In the open position, it goes in between the wire spacing of the panel, then it is locked to secure. Once locked the panel will not move until unlocked again. The base plate is welded crosswise to the post.
The barrier and posts are lightweight so are easy to transport to where they are to be used. They are relatively easy to install and do not require any specialist skills. The baseplates have 15x20mm slots and will require bolts as these are not supplied with the post.
This post comes with Polyester Powder Coating in RAL 5015 as standard. The galvanising and the PPC both give defence against corrosion and damage but also afford a professional and smart appearance.
