Product Description

3m x 3m Timber Summer House - 'Hemingway'

A timber garden structure is no longer seen as just a storage shed; as people's lifestyles change and space becomes more valuable, this type of wooden building can be reinvented for play, crafting and hobbies, as a garden office for work or study, or to create an outdoor living space for the warmer months. It is a beautiful and practical addition to any garden and adds an extra room to your property.

Things to consider

There are many things to take into consideration when choosing a garden building with size and position being high on the list. Ultimately, the size of your garden will dictate the size of the building, and with a timber structure you will need to ensure you have access to all four sides as it will need repainting or treating each year to maintain its integrity. Wood is the traditional choice for this type of garden building as it has a natural, warm look and is very pleasing to the eye. The natural beauty of the wood adds a timeless appeal and will blend seamlessly with any garden style or landscaping.

Features and Benefits

The 'Hemingway' Summer House is ideal for a smaller space as it measures 3m x 3m with an overall height of 2.4m, so will not need planning permission. It is manufactured from carefully dried and sorted high-quality European (Finnish) Spruce with a log wall depth of 28mm. Buildings with this wall depth are ideal as sheds, gyms or for seasonal use.

Spruce is perfect for this type of self-assembly building as it is strong and relatively lightweight making it easy to transport and handle.

This model has double doors on the front and a single window on one side. The double doors provide easy entry particularly if you have bulky garden equipment to move in and out of the building. The doors and windows are double glazed so will add plenty of natural light and cut down external noise. The windows are made of tempered glass.

This wooden garden building is for light domestic use and is ideal as a spacious workshop or storage shed for bikes, garden equipment and outdoor games, but also it could be used as a pleasant place to sit and enjoy the summer weather by adding a small sofa and some attractive soft furnishings.

Installation

The 'Hemingway' timber building comes as a flat-pack style and will require installation. Each house comes with foundation beams, it is advised to have a solid, level base of concrete or concrete slabs to erect the structure onto and to use ground/expansion anchors to secure firmly to the base (these are not included as the ground conditions will vary, however it is suggested to use M8 x 95mm). The log boards are easy to fit together with their interlocking design and the house is relatively easy to assemble if you have some construction experience or are an experienced DIY-er, so you can start to enjoy your new space in no time. The structure will need staining or painting within a month of installation, and on a yearly basis thereafter.

This product comes with full installation guide and assembly kit. You may also need a spirit level, tape measure, power drill/screwdriver and a rubber mallet to gently manipulate the wall beams into place.
