What is an SR1 (A1) rated security fencing system?
ProFence® from First Fence is a cost-effective, mighty security mesh system that has achieved certification under the exacting LP 1175 A1 (SR1) standards. This rating specifies a one-minute delay against opportunistic, hostile attacks using Toolkit A tools, including pliers, glass cutters, bolt cutters, spanners and engineer’s hooks. SR1 (A1) ratings and LPS 1175 standards are the benchmarks for resisting determined attempts at forced entry into premises holding high-value assets. This one-minute delay can provide on-site security teams with a window of opportunity to intercept trespassers before they breach the security perimeter.

Features and Benefits
First Fence's security-rated mesh gate, with a double-leaf configuration, is fabricated from high quality steel which has been hot dip galvanised, to meet the ISO 1461 standards. Each of the gates is then coated with a durable polyester powder layer, which provides the product with protection against rust, corrosion, damage and daily wear and tear. It is available in a range of RAL colours and can be matched to an existing scheme or corporate branding.
The gate is infilled with the distinctive 868 Mesh, also known as Twin Mesh due to its double horizontal wires. This double wire formation makes the wire mesh very strong and creates a narrow mesh pattern that will obstruct the passage of objects while making scaling or cutting a challenge. It is particularly suitable for scenarios where clear visibility is a top priority, especially when integrated with CCTV systems.
The gate kit includes six adjustable gate eyes, guaranteeing that even in the unlikely event of a hinge failure, the gate remains secure, averting accidents, damage, or injuries. Each adjustable gate eye bolt is securely fastened with a snap-off nut, reducing the risk of post-installation removal. Two Drop Bolts enhance the security of your security-rated double gate.

Installing this gate is a relatively straightforward process. First Fence's SR1-rated mesh gate kit is available in both dig-in and bolt-down formats, accommodating a wide array of ground conditions. Begin by to assessing the ground where you intend to install the gate before making your purchase. Soft soil or grassy areas need the dig-in option, while concrete or solid ground requires bolt-down posts.
The bolt-down kit includes essential ground anchor bolts. If you select the dig-in kit, adding Post Mix to your order is advisable, with a recommended four bags per post for a sturdy installation. Post Mix is also available in larger, bulk quantities should you need larger amounts. You should use either C20 or C25 post mix.
This gate serves both pedestrian access and small vehicles like forklifts. The sliding latch bolt securely keeps the leaves closed, while the drop bolts ensure their steadfast positioning.
