Intermediate timber posts are a vital element of agricultural fencing, offering reliable stability, ease of installation, and overall structural support. Positioned at regular intervals, they help keep wires correctly spaced and at the right height. Although they don’t carry the same load as strainer posts, well-placed intermediate posts stop sagging between strainers, improving both the durability and lifespan of the fence.
Each post is 2.4 metres long with a natural diameter of 75–100 mm. These stakes are Cundy Peeled, meaning the bark is stripped away without machine rounding, preserving their organic shape and giving a traditional, rustic appearance. Every stake is UC4 pressure-treated, ensuring maximum protection against decay and insect attack, making them suitable for direct placement in the ground.
Intermediate posts are generally set between strainer posts at intervals of 2–4 metres, depending on land type, stock requirements, and the fencing design. They are usually driven in and secured by compacted soil or stones, providing the necessary reinforcement to hold fencing lines in place.
