Product Description

75/100mm x 2.4m Creosoted Timber Post

Intermediate timber posts play an important role in agricultural-style fencing, offering stability, straightforward installation, and reliable wire spacing. Installed at regular intervals between strainers, they keep the fence line upright and prevent sagging. While not designed to carry the same tension as strainer posts, they add strength and help extend the fence’s working life.

Key Benefits of Timber Posts

  • Cost-Effective: More affordable than steel, while still offering long-term performance.
  • Strong & Resilient: Solid timber construction provides excellent durability.
  • Lower Environmental Impact: Timber is a natural and renewable material, requiring less energy to process than metal.
  • Easy to Fit: Simple to drive into the ground and adjust with basic tools.
  • Versatile Use: Suitable for boundary marking, pathways, and landscaping projects.

Each stake measures 2.4 metres in length with a diameter ranging from 75–100 mm. These are Cundy Peeled posts, where the bark is removed but the timber is left in its natural form for a rustic, traditional appearance. They are generally installed every 2–4 metres along the fence line, depending on ground conditions and layout. Driven directly into the earth and secured with compacted soil or stones, they provide steady support for fencing structures.

Creosote Treatment: What You Should Know

Creosote is a traditional wood preservative that provides excellent protection and a distinctive finish. However, it should not be used in areas with frequent skin contact, near livestock handling, edible plants, or close to waterways. Always check local guidelines before use to ensure suitability.

Common Uses

This fencing kit is perfect for:

  • Marking farm and estate boundaries
  • Rural paths and trails
  • Supporting young trees and landscaping projects

Timber is naturally strong, easy to work with, and well-suited to outdoor environments, especially in remote or rural settings.
