Wall-Mounted Mesh Fencing: A Smart Security Upgrade

Our wall-mounted mesh fencing offers a durable and effective way to add a security fence to the top of your existing wall. Designed for straightforward installation, this kit provides a stable and secure mesh fencing system, giving your property crucial extra security. Each kit is engineered to create a 630mm high mesh fence panel spanning 2506mm wide, with post centres at 2530mm (±15mm). All components are made from quality materials, ensuring durability and long-lasting performance in various environments. 

Build Your Own Kit

Our handy calculator will help you to plan what you need; simply add the meterage of your fence, and it will advise you how many fencing kits you need, based on a 2.5m bay.  This product comes with a smart green or black polyester powder-coated finish; however, there are many other RAL colours available on request, should you wish to match this to an existing scheme.

Each of the fencing kits contains a 60 x 60mm section post, a 630mm high x 2.5m 868 mesh fence panel, x3 mesh fencing clips, x3 M8 x 40mm security bolts and a black ribbed insert for the open end of the fence post.

You may wish to add some additional posts to your order.  If there's a change in direction, add a corner post to terminate the run, then add an end post (please note that the intermediate post can be used as both an intermediate and end post).  These posts come with fixings and ribbed inserts.

Installation Considerations

Fixing the posts to your wall is critical for optimal security. The type of fixing you use will depend on your wall material (brick, concrete, etc.), the anticipated load, and the environment (indoor vs. outdoor). This kit model is based on a common bond pattern used in bricklaying. Before beginning work, assess the wall you intend to install this onto and select the appropriate fixings.  Common fixings suitable for this application include:

• Sleeve Anchors/Through Bolts: Ideal for heavy-duty applications, expanding to grip into concrete or solid brick.
• Shield Anchors (Rawl Bolts): Excellent for solid masonry walls, expanding to provide a strong hold.
• Chemical Anchors (Resin Fixings): Offers high load capacity and is best for irregular, hollow, or older brickwork.

First Fence offers several M16 fixings: M16 x 220mm Ground Anchor Bolt, M16 x 150mm Ground Anchor Bolt, M16 x 125mm Ground Anchor Bolt, and M16 x 190mm Resin Stud Ground Anchors.

Please note that the fixings you select will be dependent on the wall material. It is recommended that you carry out an assessment before you begin work.

Installation Tips

Always check the wall condition before installation; crumbling mortar or hollow bricks may require special care.

Use a spirit level to ensure precise vertical alignment of the posts.

For outdoor use, always opt for corrosion-resistant hardware, such as galvanised or stainless steel, to ensure long-term durability.
