Protect your perimeter quickly and effectively with the First Fence 0.6m High Bolt Down 868 Mesh Fencing Kit. Designed for direct surface mounting, this strong and reliable solution offers a powerful physical barrier that strengthens any solid boundary. When installed alongside existing structures, it reinforces your property's security and helps deter unauthorised access and intrusions.
First Fence’s bolt-down mesh fencing kit offers a durable and highly effective solution for adding a security fence directly to a hard surface. Designed for straightforward installation without the need for excavation, this kit provides a stable and secure mesh fencing system, adding crucial extra security to your property where ground conditions or existing structures make traditional dug-in posts unsuitable.
The kit is precisely engineered to create a 630mm high mesh fence panel spanning 2506mm wide, with post centres at 2530mm (±15mm). The bolt-down posts feature a sturdy base plate for secure surface attachment, ensuring a total post length of 650mm. Each component is meticulously crafted from quality materials to ensure durability and long-lasting performance in various environments.
Our easy-to-use calculator helps you plan exactly what you need; just enter the total length of your fence, and it will calculate how many fencing kits are required, based on 2.5m bays. The product comes in a sleek green or black polyester powder-coated finish as standard, but a wide range of RAL colours is available on request if you'd like to match an existing colour scheme.
You may want to include additional posts in your order. For changes in direction, use a corner post; to finish the run, add an end post. (Please note: the intermediate post can be used as both an intermediate and an end post.) All posts come complete with fixings and ribbed inserts.
The 0.6m High Bolt Down 868 Mesh Fencing Kit is an ideal addition for fortifying any hard surface where enhanced security is required. It integrates seamlessly with 868 Twin Mesh fencing, renowned for its rigid and secure design. This bolt-down system is particularly useful for installations on concrete slabs, existing walls (where a top-mounted solution is preferred over side-mounting), or other solid, level surfaces. Its prominent visibility reinforces the perimeter, helping to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorised entry. This makes it especially valuable for locations such as car parks, industrial yards, commercial loading bays, or any area requiring robust boundary protection without extensive groundwork.
Fixing the bolt-down posts to your surface is critical for optimal security. The type of fixing you use will depend on the surface material (concrete, asphalt, etc.), the anticipated load, and the environment (indoor vs. outdoor). Each bolt-down post typically requires a maximum of four M16 fixings for secure attachment, ensuring maximum stability. Common fixings suitable for this application include:
Sleeve Anchors/Through Bolts: Ideal for heavy-duty applications, expanding to grip into concrete or solid brick.
Shield Anchors (Rawl Bolts): Excellent for solid masonry surfaces, expanding when tightened to provide a strong hold.
Chemical Anchors (Resin Fixings): Offers high load capacity and is best for irregular or older concrete/masonry surfaces.
First Fence offers several M16 fixings: M16 x 220mm Ground Anchor Bolt, M16 x 150mm Ground Anchor Bolt, M16 x 125mm Ground Anchor Bolt, and M16 x 190mm Resin Stud Ground Anchors. Please note that the fixings you select will be dependent on the wall material, it is recommended that you carry out an assessment before you begin work.
Before installation, thoroughly inspect the wall's condition; crumbling mortar or hollow bricks necessitate specialised attention. Ensure precise vertical alignment of all posts by utilising a spirit level. For outdoor applications, always select corrosion-resistant hardware, such as galvanised or stainless steel, to guarantee lasting durability.
