Product Description

3.1m Recycled Plastic Horizontal Rail for Post and Rail System

Post and rail fencing is a classic and versatile design with a long history of practical use. This traditional structure consists of vertical posts that support horizontal rails, forming a simple yet highly effective barrier.

During installation, robust posts are securely anchored in the ground to provide stability for the entire fence. Horizontal rails are then attached to the posts, creating the core framework of the fence. The number of rails can vary, typically ranging from two to three, resulting in a visually attractive pattern.

This type of fencing can be made from various materials, including wood and metal. Modern alternatives frequently use vinyl or recycled plastic, providing greater durability and sustainability.

The simple design of post and rail fencing is highly effective for marking boundaries. Often used in rural or agricultural settings to contain livestock or define property lines, this style of fencing is also suited for residential areas. In urban environments, it serves both decorative and functional roles, providing a rustic and natural-looking border that enhances various architectural styles and landscapes.

We recommend M10 x 160mm galvanised bolts for fixing this system; note they are not included with the product.

Introducing Recycled Plastic Post and Rail Fencing

For anyone considering post and railing fencing, First Fence offers a comprehensive selection of components, including this 3.1m x 40mm x 100mm rail. This product is made from Plaswood which is made from recycled plastic and delivers the look of real wood while offering excellent durability and performance. This material has been designed to withstand very harsh weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, UV exposure and moisture. It is highly resistant to corrosion, rot and other issues that affect metal or wood fences and needs very little in terms of maintenance once properly installed.

This rail works with the 1.7m and 2.0m posts available in the post and rail range. These rails can be used to create a two, three or four-rail fence, depending on your preference. All products in this line are available in black or brown.

This post and rail fencing is a dig-in only format, so you will need post mix to secure into the ground. We recommend one bag per post for a secure installation. We suggest M10 x 160mm galvanised bolts to fix the post and rail system (not included with the products).

Once properly installed, post and rail fencing needs minimal maintenance. However, it's advisable to periodically check all connections for integrity and promptly address any repairs.

Did you know it's easy to fix roll mesh to post and rail fence for easy animal deterrence? Additionally, post and rail can deter unauthorised access onto private land with simple barbed wire installation.
