Acrow Props are known by many names: Adjustable Steel Props, Jack Posts, Acrow Jacks, Shore Props and Post Shores, but they all do the same thing: they provide support to overhead loads when making new openings, adding lintels or repairs to load-bearing walls, keeping workers safe. When creating a hole for a new window or doorway, an Acrow Prop will be invaluable in providing the necessary temporary support.
This type of support prop is used extensively in construction as it is a very versatile piece of kit that can be reused over and over again.
Features & Benefits
Made from steel, the Acrow Prop is formed of two tubes that fit inside each other and operate by telescopic action so that the required length is achieved; the pin is then placed to prevent the outer tube from collapsing inside the other tube, and the collar is then screwed with the handle until tightly closed.
Size 1 has an extended length of 3120mm; other sizes are available from Size 0 to Size 4. Also available is a Propmate that the Acrow Prop fits into to further secure the load.
Acrow props are manufactured to BS4074:1982 and tested to BS5507-3:1982 for optimum safety.
