Propmates, commonly known as strongboys, wall supports, masonry prop attachments, lintel supports, prop heads and support blades are heavy-duty support attachments designed for use with steel acrow props (adjustable prop supports). They are primarily used in construction and renovation projects to provide temporary structural support when removing walls, installing lintels, or making openings in load-bearing structures.
The propmate with handle from First Fence is made from galvanised steel and measures 510mm in length with a width (full width including handle) of 170mm, and weighs 5.1kg.
An acrow prop has a square top plate that fits securely into the propmate below the blade handle, the propmate can then be pushed into the space between brick course (the mortar is removed to facilitate this positioning). Both the propmate and acrow prop work together to provide vertical support and create a safe working environment.
This prop head has a Safe Working Load of 340kg maximum Load Capacity and a Maximum Safe Height of 3m. The maximum spacing between props is 900mm and the thickness of the wall supported is 225mm.
Supporting brickwork and masonry during wall modifications.
Holding up walls, beams, and ceilings while lintels, doorways, or windows are installed.
Assisting in controlled demolition or alterations of load-bearing walls.
Providing additional stability in construction environments.

Weight Limits: Do not exceed the recommended load capacity of both the propmate and the acrow prop.
Surface Stability: Place acrow props on a firm, level surface to prevent instability.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear gloves, hard hats, and safety footwear when using propmates.
Inspection: Regularly check for any signs of wear, rust, or damage before use.
Professional Use: If unsure about correct placement, consult a qualified builder or structural engineer. These are not for permanent use, you may wish to consider steel lintels but check with a qualified engineer for what is appropriate for your project.
