Open Box Beam 4.8m – Yellow
Open box beam barriers are a heavy duty alternative to the corrugated steel Armco barriers, offering a more rigid and aesthetically pleasing way to protect pedestrians and property.
Installing these barriers is slightly different to the standard corrugated beams. To join the beams together, fishplates are required with the use of lap bolts. Fewer lap bolts are required per intersection, with only 6 needed for these beams as opposed to 8 for the corrugated.
The open box beams can be installed onto any of our standard Armco posts to create protective barriers for the fronts of buildings or any other property which is at risk from collision by vehicles. They can also be used to create protective walkway systems in areas with high pedestrian and vehicle levels such as car parks.
Each beam has been constructed from high quality galvanised steel which has been Polyester Powder Coated in a high visibility yellow colour. This helps to not only make the barriers as visible to both motorists and pedestrians as possible, but also protects the steel against the effects of weathering and rust.
