Understanding SR1 (A1) Rated Security Fencing

The ProFence® line is First Fence's top-tier selection of security-rated products, rigorously tested and certified to meet the demanding LPS 1175 SR1 (A1) standards.

This certification signifies a one-minute delay against intrusion attempts using Toolkit A, which includes tools such as glass cutters, pliers, spanners, screwdrivers and bolt cutters - tools frequently concealed and employed by individuals targeting high-value properties. This vital sixty-second delay can be invaluable, affording the on-site security teams the time needed to promptly and effectively detect and respond to potential breaches.

First Fence's ProFence® collection offers fence kits in both 358 Prison Mesh and 868 Twin Mesh, featuring an array of height options, colours and installation methods. Furthermore, our expertly designed single and double gates seamlessly complement the ProFence® fencing system. This product range has rightfully earned its place in the Red Book, a testament to its rigorous SR1 testing.

Features and Benefits

Our security-rated mesh gate, featuring a double-leaf configuration, is fabricated from high-quality steel which has been hot dip galvanised, compliant to ISO 1461 standards. Each gate is then further coated with a durable polyester powder, providing high levels of protection against rust, corrosion, and daily wear and tear. It is available in a variety of RAL colours so if you need it to match corporate branding, that is an option.

Double-leaf gates prove so useful when optimising the use of space or controlling access. You have the option for one or both leaves to be open or closed. Additionally, this gate range is available in various width options, ensuring versatility to cater to your specific site needs.

The gate showcases the distinctive 868 Mesh, also known as Twin Mesh due to its double horizontal wires. This robust wire mesh has a narrow mesh formation that obstructs the passage of objects while making scaling or cutting challenging. It is particularly suitable for scenarios where clear visibility is a top priority, especially when integrated with CCTV systems.

The gate kit includes six adjustable gate eyes, guaranteeing that even in the unlikely event of hinge failure, the gate remains secure, averting accidents, damage, or injuries. Each adjustable gate eye bolt is securely fastened with a snap-off nut, reducing the risk of post-installation removal. Two Drop Bolts enhance the security of your security-rated double gate.

Easy Installation

First Fence's SR1-rated mesh gate kit is available in both dig-in and bolt-down formats, accommodating a wide spectrum of ground conditions. It is imperative to assess the ground where you intend to install the gate before making your purchase. Soft soil or grassy areas necessitate the dig-in option, while concrete or solid ground requires bolt-down posts.

The bolt-down kit includes essential ground anchor bolts. Should you choose the dig-in kit, adding Post Mix to your order is advisable, with a recommended four bags per post for a sturdy installation. You should use either C20 or C25 post mix.

This gate serves both pedestrian access and small vehicles like forklifts. The sliding latch bolt securely keeps the leaves closed, while the drop bolts ensure their steady positioning. You retain the flexibility to open one or both leaves in accordance with your specific requirements.

A recommended range of approved Secure By Design (SBD) padlocks is available.
