What is SR1 (A1) Rated Security Fencing?

ProFence® is First Fence's security-rated product line that has been robustly tested and certified under the stringent and exacting SR1 (A1) LPS 1175 standards. This accreditation guarantees a one-minute delay against an attack using Toolkit A which includes glass cutters, pliers, spanners and bolt cutters. These are common tools that are easily concealed by someone looking for an opportunity to break into private premises. The sixty-second delay may prove invaluable to a security team as it will allow early detection and action to deal with the breach.

The ProFence® range from First Fence features fence kits in both 358 Prison Mesh and 868 Twin Mesh in a choice of heights. Single and Double gates are also available and are designed to work with the ProFence® fencing. The SR1 testing process has placed this product range in the Red Book.

Features and Benefits

Constructed from steel which has been hot dip galvanised, and is compliant to ISO 1461 standards. Each gate is then finished with a professionally applied polyester powder coating. This gate will be protected from rust, corrosion and general use damage, and when properly installed and maintained it should give many years of reliable service. The mesh fill of the gate is 358 Mesh which has a very distinct appearance and is also known as Prison Mesh as this is where it is often used. The closeness of the wire spacing allows for good visibility yet prevents anything being passed through and it is quite difficult to scale or cut. This mesh has good through visibility and will work with CCTV systems when monitoring is needed.

The 1.8m x 2.0m Wide ProFence® 358 Mesh Single Gate Leaf Kit features a sliding gate leaf, catch and hinge post, three gate eyes and Ribbed Inserts for the posts and gate frame.

The three adjustable gate eyes ensure that if any hinges do fail the gate itself will not fail and cause injury or damage. Each adjustable gate eye is secured with a shear nut meaning it cannot be removed after it has been installed.

The gate is secured in the closed position with the sliding latch bolt. Also included in the kit is a drop bolt which is used to hold the gate in the open position. The Drop Bolt is fitted with an M5x20mm one-way pan head bolt and M5 shear nut to prevent removal of the drop bolt.

ProFence® is certified for gradients from 0 to 25 degrees.

How to install

The SR1 rated security system from First Fence is available as a dig in and bolt down version, so whatever the ground substance, we have you covered. When you have assessed the ground the system is to be installed on, you can make your selection. The bolt down kit comes with the ground anchor bolts that you will need, however you will need to order Post Mix for your dig in kit. We recommend three bags for a 1.8m post. You should use either C20 or C25 post mix.

This gate will work perfectly with the 1.8m mesh fencing kits in this range. Other heights and widths are also available.

A recommended range of approved Secure By Design (SBD) padlocks is available.
