Understanding SR1 (A1) Rated Security Fencing
The ProFence® series represents First Fence's top-tier selection of security-rated products, rigorously tested and certified under the stringent LPS 1175 A1 (SR1) standards. This accreditation signifies a one-minute delay against an attack using Toolkit A, including tools like glass cutters, pliers, spanners, and bolt cutters amongst others - those easily concealed commonly used by those attempting to breach private premises. This crucial sixty-second delay is invaluable, providing security teams the time needed to swiftly detect and respond to potential breaches.
First Fence's ProFence® collection offers fence kits in both 358 Prison Mesh and 868 Twin Mesh, offering various height options. Additionally, we provide single and double gates expertly designed to complement the ProFence® fencing system. This product range has rightfully earned a place in the Red Book due to its rigorous SR1 testing.
Features and Benefits
This gate is designed as a single leaf, constructed from high-quality steel which has been hot dip galvanised to meet the ISO 1461 standards. Each gate is then finished with a durable polyester powder coating for protection against rust, corrosion, and daily wear and tear.
Single leaf gates are renowned for their space-efficient design, making them ideal for limited spaces. They facilitate quick and easy opening and closing, vital in scenarios requiring rapid access or exit. When installed and maintained correctly, this gate ensures years of dependable service. The gate features the distinctive 358 Mesh, historically known as "Prison Mesh" due to its use in correctional facilities. Its closely spaced wires offer excellent visibility while preventing the passage of objects, making it challenging to scale or cut. This mesh is ideal for situations where clear visibility is essential, such as integration with CCTV systems.
The kit includes a sliding gate leaf, catch and hinge post, three gate eyes and Ribbed Inserts for the posts and gate frame. With three adjustable gate eyes, even in the rare event of a single hinge failure, the gate remains secure, preventing potential injuries or damage. Each adjustable gate eye is firmly fastened with a shear nut, ensuring post-installation removal is impossible.
The gate securely closes using the sliding latch bolt.
Easy Installation
Our SR1 rated security system by First Fence is available in both dig-in and bolt-down versions, suitable for various ground conditions. After assessing your installation site, you can choose the appropriate option. The bolt-down kit includes essential ground anchor bolts, while the dig-in kit requires the addition of Post Mix, available for purchase and recommended at three bags per 2.0m post. You should use either C20 or C25 post mix.
This gate seamlessly complements the 2.0m mesh fencing kits within the range, with other height and width options available to meet your specific needs.
A recommended range of approved Secure By Design (SBD) padlocks is available.
