When fixing ground anchor bolts into weaker base materials there is the potential for this substance to crack and crumble due to compression stress exerted by the bolt or the weight of a heavy gate fixed onto it.
Clearly this is unacceptable as it will render the gate system unsafe. A better choice for this situation or if you need to space your bolts closer together or near the edge, is to use a chemical resin system. It takes a little more skill, however it will be much longer lasting so is worth the effort.
A chemical fixing uses a stud ground anchor bolt and a resin, and it is this combination that makes such a strong bond that can withstand a higher stress load. Once the hole has been drilled it is important to remove any loose material with a blow pump, the resin is injected into it and the bolt is pushed and twisted into place. The resin cures around the bolt and into any irregularities in the hole, and this forms the very strong connection which will make your fixings durable and secure.
This M16 x 190mm resin stud ground anchor bolt can be described as a chisel point chemical anchor stud and is well suited for using with a resin anchor system. It is 16mm in diameter and 190mm in length and is constructed from galvanised steel. A washer and nut are included with this bolt.
First Fence has a range of accessories for using with resin systems, including resin cartridges, applicator gun, blow out pump and hole cleaning brush.
