The treated finish is designed to prevent the damage of rot and to increase the life expectancy of the Timber Sleepers.
The dimensions of a Railway Sleeper are, 2400mm in length, 100mm in height and 200mm in width. This is a standard size for a Railway Sleeper, however a great feature of Railway Sleepers is that they can be cut down to size or shape. If you want to adjust the length, thickness, or even create a curved border, all you need is a saw and your imagination.
Fitting our Railway Sleepers is a straightforward process, but it depends on your project and design preferences. Step one is to ensure that the surface is clear and level. A handy spirit level would be very useful to have. Next, the Timber Sleepers can either be laid on the ground or partially buried for added stability. Landscaping screws, steel pins or wood spikes can be used to secure the Sleepers to the base or together.
You can install Garden Sleepers on a number of different ground types including soil, grass, concrete and decking.
