Green Treated Railway Sleeper | 2400mm x 100mm x 200mm
Our Green Treated Railway Sleepers are a versatile choice for gardening, landscaping and DIY projects. With their natural timber appearance and robust construction, they can be used to create raised beds, borders, walls, steps and garden features.
Whether you're a professional landscaper, keen gardener or DIY enthusiast, these timber sleepers provide a practical way to add structure and definition to outdoor spaces.
Pressure-Treated Timber
These Grade 3 Railway Sleepers are manufactured from natural timber and pressure-treated to help protect against rot, weathering and outdoor conditions. The treatment conforms to BS EN 351-1, helping extend the lifespan of the timber while maintaining its natural-looking green finish. With regular cleaning and maintenance, including the application of a suitable wood preserver, you can help maintain the appearance and longevity of your sleepers.
Versatile Landscaping Solution
Railway Sleepers can be used in a variety of ways and can be cut to size to suit your project. Popular applications include:
- Raised flower beds
- Vegetable beds
- Garden borders
- Retaining walls
- Raised platforms
- Garden steps
- Decorative landscaping features
- Gravel and planting borders
Their rectangular profile can be stacked or connected to create different heights and designs, making them suitable for both simple and more elaborate landscaping projects.
Easy to Cut and Install
The first step when installing Railway Sleepers is to clear the area and create a level, stable base. Depending on the application, sleepers can be positioned directly on the ground or partially buried for additional stability. A trench can be created and filled with sand, soil or concrete to provide a suitable foundation. Sleepers can then be stacked or connected using wooden spikes, landscaping screws or steel pins (not supplied). The sleepers can also be cut down using a suitable saw to create the required dimensions and shape for your project.
Railway Sleeper Dimensions
Each Railway Sleeper measures:
- Length: 2400mm
- Height: 100mm
- Width: 200mm
Railway Sleepers are also available in a brown finish, allowing you to choose the look that best suits your landscaping project. Don't forget to check out our brown sleeper package and green sleeper package, both available in packs of 100.
