When your security needs are significant because your site is of a sensitive nature or contains valuable assets, and you need to keep intruders out, then adding barbed or razor to the top of a fencing system is a cost-effective way of significantly safeguarding your premises.
These Cranked Mesh Post Extensions with X Sleeve are designed to work with 60 x 60mm box section Mesh Fencing Posts and are used to support security wire. Once fitted in place, a line of intruder-deterring barbed or razor wire can be attached that will add an intimidating level of obstruction.
They can be retrofitted to an existing system or added as part of a new design.
They are available in three styles; straight, cranked, or Y-shaped.
The base of the Cranked Mesh Post Extension has a narrower, x-shaped section that slides into the open box section of the post. A bolt is then put in place, this attaches it securely and stops it from being tampered with, there is 12mm clearance for these fixings. There are 3 drilled holes on each side of the extension which are used for the tension wires to attach the security wire.
The Post Extensions are manufactured from pre-galvanised steel and available as a basic pre-galvanised version or green polyester powder coating. Powder coating gives the post a very sleek and highly finished look, but also acts as in a protective manner as it protects the metal beneath from the damaging effects of bad weather and the wear and tear of being sited out of doors.
The Post Extension requires M8 or M10 bolts to attach it to the mesh post, as these are not included with the product. Ribbed inserts (60 x 60mm) will be needed for the open box section ends of the extension post to keep water out.
