Acoustic barriers can help block out unwanted noise and make places much more peaceful. There are a range of sound barriers to choose from, so that you can find which works best for your project.
In this blog, we’ll talk about the different types of acoustic fencing available.
Acoustic barriers, also known as sound barriers or noise barriers, are privacy barriers designed to reduce the transmission of sound from one area to another.
They are typically installed in environments where noise pollution is a concern, such as highways, railways, industrial facilities, and residential areas.
Acoustic barriers work by absorbing, reflecting, or diffusing sound waves, thereby reducing the impact of noise of nearby residents or certain areas.
Timber acoustic fencing, or sound-proof fencing as it’s also known is a specialised type of fencing designed to reduce noise pollution. Designed from high quality timber, these panels have certain design features to help absorb or deflect noise.
Not only do they offer great privacy, security and act as an acoustic barrier, they are also very aesthetically pleasing, with a natural timber wood appearance.
Acoustic barrier panels are versatile and can be made from materials such as; foam, fiberglass or fabric. These panels absorb sound energy, reducing echo and noise.
They can be used in a range of applications, including; construction sites and concert stadiums.
Also known as sound barriers, concrete noise barriers are typically made of precast concrete or poured concrete, although other materials such as wood or metal may also be used.
These barriers are designed to absorb, reflect, or diffuse sound waves, therefore reducing the noise that reaches the nearby areas. They are typically constructed alongside transportation corridors.
There are three types of acoustic fencing available with First Fence;
