First Fence partners with Burton Mind as their Charity of the Year
At First Fence, we strongly believe in giving back and supporting the local community. We are delighted to announce that our chosen charity is the remarkable Burton Mind.

Why Burton Mind?

In the UK, 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England (Mind) with 1 in 6 people reporting a common mental health problem (like anxiety and depression) in any given week in England.

With mental health often being brushed aside or stigmatized, it is essential to have an environment where people can talk about this and seek support, that’s one of the reasons we have partnered with Burton Mind.

Burton Mind provides advice and support to empower everyone to experience better mental health. Supporting over 3,000 people a year through;

  • Help and Guidance
  • Counselling and Coaching Services
  • Activity Projects
  • One to One Recover Services
  • Distress Services
  • Workplace Health Services

They offer a range of activities to get involved in, from fundraising, volunteering and events.

First Fence recognize the pressing need to prioritise mental health and well-being, and aim to help Burton Mind with fundraising and to help combat the stigma around mental health.

How are we helping?

To help raise awareness and funds for Burton Mind, two First Fence colleagues are running the Alton Towers half marathon to raise as much as they possibly can towards this cause.

This is taking place on 12th November and Jonathan Burgess, and Bailey Cullen will be running around the theme park. They have also been baking and selling cakes in the office to raise funds for Burton Mind.

If you would like to help raise funds for Burton Mind, you can sponsor Jonathan and Bailey via their Just Giving Pages.

First Fence colleagues have also attended other Burton Mind events, including their 80’s Night and Reggae Night.

Stay tuned for further updates and fundraising activities that we are planning to raise funds for Burton Mind. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and support the vital cause of mental health awareness and assistance.
