Essentially, noise refers to unwelcome sounds that can disturb communication, hinder leisure activities, and, in severe instances, cause hearing impairments or trigger mental and physical symptoms. Timber construction and barriers efficiently absorb and redirect sound waves, significantly reducing noise levels in different environments. These barriers seamlessly integrate with various exterior designs, elevating aesthetics with their appealing and welcoming appearance.
The EchoGroove Reflective Acoustic Fencing Kit, standing at a height of 4.2m, functions by reflecting noise away using its profile. Delivered in separate components, the kit allows for easy assembly on-site. Its acoustic screen boasts a carefully crafted profile that, when installed accurately, removes any gaps, efficiently preventing sound from passing through.
Please note that this kit does not include any fixings; you will need 64mm stainless steel nails compatible with your nail gun.
This product is manufactured from Sawn Spruce and may cause splinters.
The Timber Acoustic Fencing Kits offer an uncomplicated remedy for homeowners, property developers, and local governments addressing worries about traffic noise. They are ideal for residents in bustling areas or businesses seeking to minimise unwanted noise disruptions.
The system was independently tested by Salford University to meet Highways England standards (BS EN 1793 Road Traffic Noise Reducing Devices). It complies with the standards of BS EN 1794-1 and BS EN 1794-2, and also adheres to Highways Sector Scheme 2C for the prefabrication of environmental barriers.
Crafted from Tanalised (UC4) pressure-treated timber sourced from an FSC-certified supplier, this material features a naturally pale green colour that seamlessly blends with its surroundings. The timber is surface-incised at the manufacturing site, a crucial step to ensure optimal preservation for timber used in ground contact applications.
Within the loose, kit form, you will get Tongue & Groove Acoustic Boards, Timber Gravel Board, Capping Rail, Counter Rail, Cover Strip, Centre Strip. We only recommend that you use a steel post for this height of fencing. This is a dig-in only format.
Installation is relatively simple, once the posts are in place, fit the horizontal acoustic tongue and groove boards to the posts and build to the required height by interlocking them together. Post centres are 2.4m.
These panels can be painted with a breathable stain or paint. It is recommended that any vegetation be cut down where the acoustic fencing is to be installed. Do not install them where they may sit in water.
The manufacturer guarantees a 30-year service life for the timber acoustic barriers when properly installed and maintained. It is advisable to consult a structural engineer to evaluate wind loading requirements specific to your location.
Our EchoGroove Panels are also available in heights ranging from 1.8 to 5.0m.
These panels not only enhance aesthetics but also offer the most effective solution for combating excessive and undesired noise across various applications, including residential, educational, transportation, commercial, and industrial settings. This acoustic fencing functions by forming a substantial barrier to disrupt and deflect unwanted sound, resulting in a significant reduction in noise levels and minimising prior disturbances. In addition to noise control, acoustic fence panels provide heightened privacy and a more visually appealing alternative to industrial-style security fencing.
First Fence also has a range called EchoReflect and EchoAbsorb, why not take a look today? Also available are a range of Sound Absorption Barriers and accessories.
