First Fence is thrilled to introduce our newest product line: Timber Acoustic Fencing. This collection features three unique styles: EchoGroove, EchoReflect, and EchoAbsorb, each designed to effectively address and reduce excess and unwanted noise.
Unwanted noise, or sound intrusion, can disrupt communication and recreational activities and in severe cases, cause hearing impairment or mental health issues. Wooden structures and barriers are highly effective in both absorbing and reflecting sound, playing a vital role in reducing noise levels in various settings.
This EchoAbsorb Absorbent Acoustic Fencing Kit, available in a 2.7-metre size, can be purchased either as a loose kit for easy on-site assembly or as pre-assembled panels. These kits are popular for acoustic fencing screening and are ideal for a wide range of applications, including residential, commercial, industrial, educational, and healthcare facilities.
Please note that this kit does not include any fixings; you will need 64mm stainless steel nails compatible with your nail gun and two M10 x 150mm coach screws per rail.
The timber acoustic fencing panels are designed to absorb and dampen unwanted sounds, making them ideal for containing noise within a specific area. These panels feature a two-part design: one side has vertically sawn boards and cover strips for a sound-reflective surface, while the other side includes a protective membrane and rockwool for sound absorption.
You can install the acoustic fencing panels with either steel or timber posts, both available from First Fence. The steel posts come with wooden wedges for installation in a dig-in-only format.
The EchoAbsorb Acoustic Fencing Kit offers a straightforward solution for local authorities dealing with traffic noise, builders seeking to reduce construction noise, and homeowners desiring peace and quiet.
All timber acoustic fencing within this range has undergone independent testing conducted by Salford University, meeting the criteria established by Highways England (BS EN 1793 Road Traffic Noise Reducing Devices). Moreover, it adheres to BS EN 1794-1 and BS EN 1794-2, aligning with Highways Sector Scheme 2C for the prefabrication of environmental barriers.
Crafted from UC4 Tanalised, pressure-treated timber sourced from an FSC-certified supplier, this wood boasts a natural, soft pale green hue that seamlessly integrates with its surroundings. The timber undergoes surface incision at the manufacturer's site, a critical process to guarantee top-tier preservative protection, especially for timber in ground contact.
The loose kit comprises EchoAbsorb Straight Boards, Gravel Board, Capping and Counter Rails, Horizontal Rails, and Cover Strips, forming a single bay of 2.7 metres in height and 2.4 metres in width for timber acoustic fencing.
The timber acoustic barriers come with a manufacturer-provided 30-year expected service life and are engineered to be maintenance-free when installed correctly. These panels are suitable for painting with a breathable stain or paint. It is advisable to clear vegetation from the installation area of the acoustic fencing and to avoid installing it where it might be submerged in water.
The timber acoustic barriers have a 30-year desired service life offered by the manufacturer and are designed to be maintenance free, subject to correct installation. Check with a structural engineer for wind loading for your specific location.
These panels not only enhance aesthetics but also provide an effective solution for addressing excessive and unwanted noise in various applications, including residential, education, transport, commercial, and industrial sectors. In addition to noise management, acoustic fence panels offer increased privacy and a more aesthetically pleasing alternative to industrial-styled security fencing.
Our EchoAbsorb Panels are also available in 1.8m to 5.0m heights.
First Fence also has a range called EchoReflect and EchoGroove, why not take a look today? Also available is a range of Sound Absorption Barriers and accessories.
