The Single Swivel Key Clamp Fitting, which is also known as an A44, is generally used to position a sloped tube located when the angle for a joint is unknown, for example, within a handrail on a ramp. The way this works is by having two tubes, where one tube fixes into the fitting, vertically establishing a post, with a second tube fitting through the upper part which can be set at an angle. The Single Swivel is formed by two key clamp fittings: one being a Single Male Swivel (A36) and a Female Swivel (A42). It is also important to note that it is strongly advised that structures are not completely built from Swivel type fittings, due to risking stability.
By using an A44 Fitting, handrails can be fitted to more irregular stairways, this means that when stairways are steeper in some areas, this fitting can be used to easily fit a handrail, adding an essential safety feature where it is needed.
Please note that the A44 Key clamp Fitting is compatible with Size 7 Tubing, which has an outer diameter of 42.4mm.
