ProFence® 868 Mesh sets the highest standard for security excellence within the First Fence product range, proudly showcasing an impressive SR1 (A1) LPS 1175 certification that goes beyond the capabilities of standard mesh products. When protecting locations housing sensitive activities and information, or valuable stock and assets is of prime concern, this certified welded security mesh fencing system stands out as the ideal choice.
To achieve this accreditation, a product must undergo a full assessment to identify its ability to resist a determined attack with various tools and within a stated time frame. Common hand tools such as bolt cutters, pliers, wire cutters, and screwdrivers, easily concealed by potential trespassers, are part of Toolkit A and are used in an attack lasting sixty seconds. These critical seconds can make all the difference between detecting a break-in by the on-site security personnel and an effective mitigating response.
The LPS 1175 (A1) accreditation subjects gates and fencing to intense scrutiny, carrying out an assessment of their resilience to determined attempts at illegal entry. It rigorously tests the equipment's ability to withstand forced entry, subjecting each component to trials using common hand tools like bolt cutters, pliers, wire cutters, and screwdrivers. These tools, small and easily concealed, play a vital role in determining how quickly someone could employ them to breach security.
The 3.0m x 5.0m Wide ProFence® 868 Mesh Single Gate Leaf Kit includes a sliding gate leaf, catch and hinge post, three gate eyes, and Ribbed Inserts for the posts and gate frame.
This gate range is fabricated from steel which has been hot dip galvanised to ISO 1461 standards. This is a robust material, which has then been coated with polyester powder. This design ensures the gate has protection against rust, corrosion, and wear-and-tear, guaranteeing long-lasting reliability.
The mesh fill of the ProFence® 868 Mesh gate showcases the distinctive 868 Twin Mesh, characterised by 6mm vertical wires intersecting with 8mm horizontal wires. This mesh configuration offers excellent visibility while effectively preventing the passage of stolen items or unauthorised individuals.
Safety remains a top priority and included with the gate are three adjustable gate eyes, ensuring that if one hinge point were to fail, the gate remains secure, preventing hazardous drops and potential injuries. Each gate eye is securely fastened with a shear nut, rendering it tamper-proof once fastened.
For safety, the gate can be firmly kept shut in the closed position using the sliding latch bolt. The kit also incorporates a drop bolt designed to securely hold the gate in the open position, featuring an M5x20mm one-way pan head bolt and M5 shear nut to deter unauthorised removal.
ProFence® is certified for gradients from 0 to 25 degrees.
The ProFence® gate offers installation flexibility, available in either a dig-in or bolt-down format. It's important to assess your ground conditions before making your choice. For softer ground, you'll dig in the posts, while for harder ground, you'll opt for the bolt-down method. The bolt-down option includes four ground anchor bolts for each post, while the dig-in post option requires Post Mix, available as an additional purchase. For a 3.0m high gate, it is recommended to use four bags of Post Mix per post, ensuring a solid foundation. You should use either C20 or C25 post mix.
A recommended range of approved Secure By Design (SBD) padlocks is available.
