ProFence® 868 Mesh sets the pinnacle of security standards within First Fence's product range, proudly boasting an impressive SR1 (A1) LPS 1175 accreditation, far surpassing the capabilities of standard mesh alternatives. When keeping safe valuable locations and assets or implementing heightened security measures is of foremost importance, this certified welded security mesh fencing system stands out as the ideal choice.
To earn this accreditation, a product must undergo a detailed assessment to determine its capacity to withstand a resolute assault with various tools within a specific time frame. Common hand tools such as bolt cutters, pliers, wire cutters, and screwdrivers, which can be easily hidden by potential intruders, are part of Toolkit A and are used in a prolonged attack lasting sixty seconds. These crucial seconds could be the difference between a breach being detected by the on-site security team and an effective response.
The LPS 1175 (A1) endorsement subjects security gates and fencing to diligent review, carrying out an extensive assessment of their resilience against determined attempts at unauthorised entry. It rigorously tests the equipment's ability to withstand forced entry, putting each component through trials using common hand tools like bolt cutters, pliers, wire cutters, and screwdrivers. These tools, which are small and easily concealed, play a pivotal role in determining how quickly someone could employ them to breach security.
The 3.0m x 4.0m Wide ProFence® 868 Mesh Single Gate Leaf Kit comprises a sliding gate leaf, catch and hinge post, three gate eyes, and Ribbed Inserts for the posts and gate frame.
Crafted from high quality steel which has been hot dip galvanised and is compliant to ISO 1461. These gates are then coated with polyester powder, ensuring that these are purpose-built for enduring outdoor use. This design ensures notable protection against rust, corrosion, and general wear-and-tear damage, guaranteeing long-lasting reliability.
The mesh fill of the ProFence® 868 Mesh gate features the distinctive 868 Twin Mesh, characterised by 6mm vertical wires intersecting with 8mm horizontal wires. This mesh configuration offers excellent visibility while effectively preventing the passage of stolen items or unauthorised individuals.
Safety remains a top priority with the inclusion of three gate eyes, ensuring that if one hinge point were to fail, the gate remains secure, preventing hazardous drops and potential injuries. Each gate eye is securely fastened with a shear nut, making it tamper-proof once fixed in place.
For added security, the gate can be firmly locked in the closed position using the sliding latch bolt. The kit also incorporates a drop bolt designed to securely hold the gate in the open position, featuring an M5x20mm one-way pan head bolt and M5 shear nut to deter unauthorised removal.
The ProFence® gate offers installation flexibility, available in either a dig-in or bolt-down form. It's necessary to assess the ground conditions before making your choice, with soft ground you will dig in the posts and with harder ground substance you will bolt down. The bolt-down option comes with four ground anchor bolts for each post, while the dig-in post option requires Post Mix, available as an additional purchase.
For a 3.0m high gate, it is recommended to use four bags of Post Mix per post, ensuring a solid foundation. It is suggested that you use either C20 or C25 post mix.
A recommended range of approved Secure By Design (SBD) padlocks is available.
