Understanding SR1 (A1) Rated Security Fencing
To earn this accreditation, products undergo a rigorous testing and scrutiny process designed to evaluate their capacity to withstand hostile and deliberate attacks. This assessment includes testing the product's resilience against tools like bolt cutters, screwdrivers, pliers, among others, from Toolkit A. Not only does it evaluate the attempt to breach security, but it also measures the time an intruder is willing to invest in such an endeavour. The coveted SR1 (A1) rating signifies that the product provides resistance to a sustained sixty-second attack. These critical seconds are crucial as they allow on-site security teams to detect, respond, and take action before the perimeter is compromised.
The Versatile ProFence® Range
First Fence's ProFence® range offers a versatile array of fence kits, including the 358 Prison Mesh and 868 Twin Mesh, each available in various heights. To complement these options, there are single and double gates designed to seamlessly integrate with the ProFence® fencing system. This product range has earned its reputation as an exceptional security solution, firmly establishing its place in the esteemed Red Book, thanks to rigorous SR1 testing.
ProFence® is certified for gradients from 0 to 25 degrees.
Key Features and Benefits
The 2.4m x 2.0m Wide ProFence® gate comes in kit form and is compatible with the ProFence® fencing range of the same height. The kit includes a sliding gate leaf with a latch bolt for secure closure, a hinge and catch post, three adjustable gate eyes with shear nuts, ribbed inserts for the posts and gate frame, and a padlock for added security. It also offers 50mm ground clearance.
This SR1 rated mesh gate is manufactured from high-quality steel, which has been hot dip galvanised, which meets the ISO 1461 standard. This provides long-lasting weather and damage protection – essential for a gate permanently located outdoors. Additionally, a polyester powder coating not only gives a sleek finish but also enhances protection against damage. The gates is available in a choice of RAL colours including green and black.
The ProFence® 868 Mesh gate features the easily recognisable 868 Twin Mesh, characterised by 6mm vertical wires intersecting with 8mm horizontal wires. This mesh configuration is not only strong and resistant to cutting but also offers excellent visibility while preventing the passage of items.
Safety is a top priority with this certified mesh gate, featuring three adjustable gate eyes. Even if one hinge point were to fail, the gate itself remains secure, protecting people and property from harm. Each gate eye is fastened with a shear nut, ensuring it is tamper-proof when in place.
For added security, the gate can be securely shut in the closed position using the sliding latch bolt. The kit also incorporates a drop bolt designed to hold the gate in the open position securely, featuring an M5x20mm one-way pan head bolt and M5 shear nut to deter unauthorised removal.
Easy Installation
The ProFence® gate offers installation flexibility, available in either a dig-in or bolt-down format. It's crucial to assess your ground conditions before making your choice. The bolt-down option includes four ground anchor bolts for each post, while the dig-in post option requires Post Mix, available as an additional purchase. For a 2.4m high gate, it is recommended to use four bags of Post Mix per post for a solid foundation. It is suggested that you use either C20 or C25 post mix.
A recommended range of approved Secure By Design (SBD) padlocks is available.
