Understanding SR1 (A1) Rated Security Fencing

The ProFence® security mesh product line represents First Fence's premier selection of security-rated products. These products have undergone rigorous testing and certification to meet the exacting LPS 1175 SR1 (A1) standards.

This certification underscores that the product offers a crucial one-minute resistance against intrusion attempts utilising Toolkit A. Toolkit A encompasses small, easily hidden tools like glass cutters, pliers, spanners, non-metallic rope, and bolt cutters, typically used by individuals targeting properties with high-value assets. This pivotal sixty-second delay proves invaluable by affording security teams the time required to swiftly detect and respond to potential breaches, potentially dissuading criminals from pilfering valuable assets or causing harm.

First Fence's ProFence® collection encompasses fence kits in both 358 Prison Mesh and 868 Twin Mesh, offering a diverse range of height options. Moreover, our expertly designed single and double gates seamlessly complement the ProFence® fencing system. This product range has rightfully earned its place in the Red Book, a testament to its rigorous SR1 testing.

Features and Advantages

Our security-rated 868 mesh gate, featuring a double-leaf configuration, is meticulously crafted from steel which has been hot dip galvanised to ISO 1461 standards and coated with a robust polyester powder layer. This coating delivers protection against rust, corrosion, and daily wear and tear. Furthermore, it is available in a spectrum of RAL colours. This protective layer not only enhances durability but can also be tailored to align with your corporate branding, imparting a polished, professional aesthetic to your fencing and gate.

The gate incorporates the distinctive 868 Mesh, also known as Twin Mesh due to its dual horizontal wires. This exceptionally sturdy wire mesh features a narrow pattern that impedes object passage while making scaling or cutting attempts arduous. However, it facilitates effective perimeter monitoring, rendering it particularly well-suited for scenarios where clear visibility is paramount, especially when integrated with CCTV systems.

The gate kit includes six adjustable gate eyes, ensuring that even in the improbable event of a single hinge failure, the gate remains secure, averting accidents, damage, or injuries. Each adjustable gate eye bolt is securely fastened with a snap-off nut, mitigating the risk of post-installation tampering. Two Drop Bolts augment the security of your security-rated double gate.

Easy Installation

The installation of this accredited security gate is relatively straightforward, following the standard mesh gate format.

First Fence's SR1-rated mesh gate kit is available in both dig-in and bolt-down configurations, accommodating a wide spectrum of ground conditions. Assessing the ground conditions at your intended installation site before making your purchase is essential, as it determines the appropriate kit variant. Soft soil or grassy areas necessitate the dig-in option, while concrete or solid ground mandates bolt-down posts.

The bolt-down kit includes indispensable ground anchor bolts. If you opt for the dig-in kit, consider adding Post Mix to your order, with a recommended four bags per post for a sturdy installation. Post Mix is also available in larger bulk quantities if needed. You should use either C20 or C25 post mix.

This gate boasts a substantial width, catering to both pedestrian access and small vehicles like forklifts. The sliding latch bolt securely maintains the leaves closed, while the drop bolts ensure their steadfast positioning. You retain the flexibility to open one or both leaves according to your specific site requirements.
