Oxford LowPro Narrow Trench Cover 1.0m x 40mm

The LowPro Narrow Trench Cover was developed for Project Gigabit, the aim of which was to deliver fast and reliable digital connectivity to the entire country. Its narrow size makes it ideal for fibre optic cable installations which often cross pavements; placing these trench covers over the dug out channels makes it possible for pedestrians to continue using the paths without slipping or tripping.

The recycled plastic material of the cover has high gripping properties that provide a stable surface for foot or vehicle traffic. This material is very tough and won't break even with tough loading, it will support any road vehicle. The narrow trench is slimmer than a tyre's width, so the load is evenly distributed and supported by the sides of the trench.

This type of trench cover is useful for water pipe installation and maintenance and any other similar service work, they can be placed in a straight line or in a curve. Each cover plate has Hi-Vis inserts for safety during the day and night. It is suitable for use in any narrow trench from a depth of 20mm to 1000mm and a 75mm-100mm width. Its low profile ensures it sits flat against the ground surface.

It is available in 1m sections that securely bolt together. Each LowPro Narrow Trench Cover comes with an M6 x 25mm button head screw, M6 nyloc locknut and M6 penny washer. The LowPro cover plates slot together, you simply insert the bolt in the washer from the top side and then through the cover. Secure with the 2nd washer and tighten the Nyloc nut and bolt. You will need a 10mm spanner and 4mm allen key. Two or three LowPros can be connected to make 2m or 3m sections for quicker installation.

Its slender format takes up less space in transport and storage; it weighs 3.23kg. Also available as a 1.0m x 20mm format. Use with the LowPro 11/11 over T-Junctions. End of life products can be returned to Oxford Plastics for recycling.
