The Inline Internal Tube Connector, or A9 Fitting as it is also known, is a joint which unites two tubes within a guardrail structure. When using this type of fitting or joint within a structure, you will need to make sure that it will not be expected to bear tensile or heavy loads, as this key clamp fitting is not recommended for that purpose. With a similar function to the A9, the External Tube Connector (A8) may be used as an alternative.
Please note: The two tubes which are used with this type of fitting should both be Size 7 and have an outside diameter of 42.4mm. The wall thickness of these two tubes should also not be greater than 3.2mm.
With no need for expensive tools or equipment, installation of the Inline Internal Tube Connector is quick and simple with just a Hex Key required, which is available to purchase separately. This is used to tighten the Grub Screws and ensure that the structure is secured in place.
Supplied in galvanised steel, the A9 has added protection and resistance against the damaging effects of weathering and corrosion, this means that it requires very little to no maintenance after it has been installed.
