Hydraulic Gate Closers
Gate closers come in many varieties and so can be used in many different situations. A particular benefit is that they enhance safety which is important where children are concerned. The difficulty can be deciding on the type of gate closer you need. Rising hinges, spring hinges, gas closers and hydraulic closers are just a few of the options available.
Hydraulically controlled closure devices are a highly recommended product. They provide a controlled close, have adjustable speed, need no power, and are easily fitted by an installer.
The Hydraulic Gate Closer is a controlled closure product developed using a proven closing mechanism that will give safe and reliable closing function.
This item is very robust, the closing unit will fit beneath the gate making it less likely to be tampered with. It can be used with gates up to 150kg so is a very sturdy product and is easy to install. It requires no power because of its hydraulic action. This gate closer meets RoSPA recommendations.
The top hinge assembly is adjustable to allow the gate to be correctly positioned after installation and the strong closer unit is fitted underneath the gate and also acts as a load-bearing hinge.
The Hydraulic Gate Closer can be used on wooden or metal gates and is only suitable for retrofitting if the existing hinges can be removed, as the pivot point needs to be aligned top and bottom.
Available in a weld-in or bolt on fixing (APS or APSW), or APSSTOP which has a 90° top hinge which is a built-in stop to prevent the gate opening more than 90°.
The APSW closer and top hinge kit is a bolt-on hydraulic closer.
The APS closer has a standard top hinge and is weld-in, and the APSSTOP closer has a 90° top hinge, and is also weld-in.
The gate closer motor is factory set to close the gate in 5-7 seconds. In terms of maintenance the top hinge should be kept lubricated with a suitable grease, the closer and bottom hinge are maintenance free.
This product is designed to be fitted by professional gate manufacturers or installers.
