HDBOX/K-200 - Heavy Duty Load Bearing Box Lintel - 215mm High

The HDBOX/K-200 heavy duty load bearing box lintel is suitable for either internal or external openings to bear heavier loads than a standard box lintel. This box lintel is suitable for internal or external walls with a width of 215mm. These lintels also have small perforations along their length which acts like a plaster key.

This range of heavy-duty box lintels have been made from 2.5mm thick high quality pre-galvanised mild steel and have been designed to be able to take the full weight of wet masonry as soon as it has been installed. The flange on the HDBOX/K-200 has been designed to support a nominal masonry load only, up to a maximum of 3kN per metre run.

Available in 150mm increments starting at 1950mm up to 2700mm, allowing for load bearing support over a wide variety of gap sizes. Please note: These lintels require an additional 150mm end bearing at each end, for example: if the gap that needs to be bridged is 1200mm long then an additional 300mm needs to be added to the total length of the lintel.

In order for this lintel to support the specified loads below, the lintel will need to be installed correctly. Care should also be taken to avoid shock loading on box lintels when used with concrete floors or any other heavy units. Please refer to the installation guide for further information.

The figures also take into account the different loading types which are common in traditional cavity wall construction. These figures have been acquired through testing in accordance with the requirements of standards BS 5977 Part 2: 1983 and BS EN 845-2:2003
