Build Your Chain Link Fencing System

Chain link fencing is a popular and cost-effective fencing option made from galvanised steel wire, woven into a diamond mesh pattern. It is used in many settings and is ideal for boundary marking and containment in residential, commercial and industrial areas. Our chain link fences are available with a galvanised or a PVC-coated finish and in many heights, providing a balance of strength, visibility and affordability.

First Fence has a full range of products for your brand-new chain link fence system, including chain link fencing rolls, posts, and accessories. To make things simple, use our calculators to work out how much to order. Add your meterage to the calculator, and it will let you know how many rolls you need for your project, then add the posts that you need.

Diamond fencing is an incredibly versatile solution suited to a wide range of environments. It is commonly used for residential garden boundaries, keeping children and pets secure while maintaining visibility. In commercial settings, it provides a reliable perimeter barrier for car parks, storage areas, and business premises. Industrial users often rely on chain link fencing to safeguard machinery yards, depots, and construction sites. It’s also a popular choice for enclosing sports facilities such as tennis courts and football pitches, offering clear sightlines and robust containment. In agriculture, chain link fences are used to create secure animal enclosures and to mark field boundaries.

Steel Posts

Ideal for use in gardens, sports grounds, warehouses, building sites, and farmland, this fencing system provides an economical and efficient boundary solution. It stands up well against corrosion, harsh weather, and physical impact, requiring minimal upkeep once installed.

Available in a range of heights and mesh sizes, this system is quick to install and fully customisable. Add-ons like barbed wire or privacy screening can be included for added protection. Chain link fencing is also well-suited for animal containment and perimeter security, offering dependable, long-term performance.

Paired with steel angle posts for a sturdy framework, you can choose from a variety of post types, including intermediate posts, end strainers, two-way strainers, and corner strainers, each designed to ensure maximum strength and support.

Features & Benefits

  • Multiple Height Options: Choose from 0.9m, 1.2m, 1.5m, 1.8m, 2.4m, and 2.8m to suit different security needs.
  • Durable Construction: Chain Link Fence Posts are made from galvanised steel for rust resistance, with an optional PVC coating for added protection and a sleek finish.  The posts are also available in a concrete format.
  • Strong & Weather-Resistant: Designed to withstand harsh conditions, making it ideal for year-round outdoor use.
  • Secure & Versatile: Commonly used for garden boundaries, sports facilities, commercial properties, industrial sites, and agricultural enclosures.
  • Flexible & Low Maintenance: Easy to install and requires minimal upkeep, making it a cost-effective fencing option.

Concrete Posts

Our Chain Link Fencing System, featuring concrete posts, offers a durable, low-maintenance solution ideal for a wide range of settings, including residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural environments. It combines the clear visibility and flexibility of galvanised chain link with the strength and reliability of precast concrete supports.

These precast concrete posts are built to endure harsh conditions, resistant to rot, rust, pests, and fire. Designed for stability and longevity, the reinforced concrete corner and strainer posts maintain proper tension on the mesh, preventing sagging and ensuring a secure, long-lasting fence structure.

Features & Benefits

  • Robust & Durable: Made from quality concrete for maximum strength and stability.
  • Weather & Corrosion Resistant: Unlike some metal posts, these won't rust or degrade over time.
  • Low Maintenance: No need for painting or regular treatments, offering a hassle-free solution.
  • Secure & Tamper-Resistant: Provides extra security, as concrete posts are difficult to cut or damage.
  • Ideal for High-Wind Areas: Heavyweight construction ensures superior wind resistance.
  • Fire Resistant: A non-combustible material, suitable for fire-prone areas.

Installation Advice

  • Support & Stability: Secure the fence with straining wires and tensioners to maintain its structure and prevent sagging. We recommend using hog ring clips and a gun to attach the chain link to the wires, and these should be spaced at 300mm intervals.
  • Spacing & Fixing: Install posts at regular intervals (typically 3.0m apart) and fix the mesh using hog rings or tie wires.
  • Ground Fixing: For added stability, set posts in post mix concrete and ensure proper alignment before tightening the mesh.

Whether you're securing a private property, enclosing a sports area, or protecting livestock, chain link fencing provides a strong, long-lasting, and practical solution for various applications.
