This heavy-duty load lintel is suitable for use where the support of a much heavier load is required. It is ideal for use on wider cavities (between 150mm and 165mm). This particular type of lintel has a wider inner leaf which can be used to support block work or stonework, which have wider profiles than standard brickwork would. The CFS/K-150 can support blocks on its inner leaf with a width up to 150mm (125mm inner leaf width + 25mm overhang)
These CFS/K Heavy duty load lintels are available in 150mm increments starting from 750mm up to 4800mm to support loads over a wide variety of gap sizes.
Please note: As part of the correct installation of these lintels, the lintels width must ensure end bearings of at least 300mm (150mm at each end), for example if there is a gap of 1800mm, you would need to add at least 300mm to the length of the gap to find the correct lintel required.
This range of lintels has been constructed from high quality pre-galvanised mild steel and satisfy the thermal performance requirements of England and Wales’ Part L of the building regulations, Northern Ireland’s part F and Scotland’s technical handbook, section 6.
In order for the lintel to achieve the loading figures in the table below, the lintel must be installed correctly.
The figures also take into account the different loading types which are common in traditional cavity wall construction. These figures have been acquired through testing in accordance with the requirements of standards BS 5977 Part 2: 1983 and BS EN 845-2:2003
Differential Total UDL kN 3:1 (up to 75% loading on the inner leaf)
Differential Total UDL kN 19:1 (up to 95% loading on the inner leaf)
Length (150mm increments) | Height (mm) | Steel Thickness (mm) | Total ULD kN 19:1 |
750 - 1500 | 229 | 2.9 | 70 |
1650 - 2100 | 229 | 2.9 | 60 |
2250 - 3000 | 229 | 2.9 | 50 |
3150 - 4000 | 229 | 3.2 | 45 |
4200 - 4800 | 229 | 3.2 | 40 |
