The BOX/K-75 single wall box lintel has been created to support standard weight loads and is suitable for use with either internal or external walls which are 100mm in width. The sides of this lintel have multiple small holes which are used as a plaster key.
This range of solid wall box lintels has been constructed from high quality pre-galvanised mild steel which, depending on the length of the lintel, is between 1.6 and 2.0mm thick. These have been designed so that they are able to support the weight of wet masonry as soon as they have been installed.
Available in 150mm increments starting at 750mm up to 1800mm, allowing for load bearing over a variety of opening sizes for multiple applications such as windows or doors.
Please note: These lintels require 150mm end bearings at each end of the lintel for correct installation. For example: if the opening size is 1200mm then an additional 300mm needs to be added to this to give the correct lintel length.
In order for this lintel to support the specified loads below, the lintel will need to be installed correctly. Care should also be taken to avoid shock loading on box lintels when used with concrete floors or any other heavy units. Please refer to the installation guide for further information.
The figures also take into account the different loading types which are common in traditional cavity wall construction. These figures have been acquired through testing in accordance with the requirements of standards BS 5977 Part 2: 1983 and BS EN 845-2:2003
Length (150mm increments) | Height (mm) | Steel Thickness (mm) | Total UDL kN |
750 - 1650 | 75 | 1.6 | 15 |
1800 | 75 | 2.0 | 10 |
