Function

Appropriate for low level security risk areas, this 1.8m high gate consists of two gate leaves that are both 5 metres in width. Suitable for installation into a new or existing 1.8m high Prison Mesh fencing system, this gate is wide enough to allow two lanes of traffic through, including HGVs. The Prison Mesh is particularly strong due to the dense wire mesh and sophisticated welding. This feature also makes the gate particularly difficult to climb as you cannot get a foothold. Due to the 1.8m height, we would recommend that this gate is used in areas in need of lower security.

There are several mechanisms on the gate for security; they include a sliding latch bolt to hold the gate leaves securely closed. To lock the gates; the latch bolts are compatible with the Padlocks available in the customisation section. The gate has hinges that allow the gate to open up to 180° (90° each way). Drop bolts on each leaf also allow the gate to be held securely open whilst the gate is in use.

Please Note: When attaching your gate to our mesh fencing, additional M8 x 40mm bolts and mesh fencing clips will be required.

358 Prison Mesh

Is constructed using horizontal and vertical wires, which both have a diameter of 4mm. At 12.7mm high and 76.2mm wide, the apertures within the mesh structure are narrow enough to prevent climbing activity, but at the same time, still provide a great standard of visibility. Prison Mesh is also known as 358 Mesh, which refers to the measurements in imperial units. It is the ultimate choice for high security locations, due to the fantastic strength and rigidity that it offers. Welded at each intersection, the wires are extremely resistant to cutting and vandalism attempts. As with other mesh fencing security solutions, 358 Prison Mesh is an ideal option for a range of areas including police stations and correctional units, commercial establishments, schools and airports.
