Corrugated Scaffold and Temporary Roofing sheets are galvanised steel sheets that are widely used in the construction industry as a multipurpose building material. They are often used as building roofing as they are durable, strong, cost-effective, versatile and environmentally sustainable. They have been used for decades with a design that hasn't really changed much over time proving what a great product they are.
This corrugated metal sheet is made from galvanised steel and has a cover width of 762mm [2'6"]. It has a 10/3 profile with 10 'rolls' at 3" (measured from one roll top to the next) and each sheet is 2.4m in length. This panel is 24 gauge or 0.6mm (0.55-0.65mm) in thickness. It is suggested that two of the panels are overlapped by one corrugation.
The repetitive grooved surface gives each corrugated sheet significant structural strength and solidity, and being made from steel means it does not suffer from rot, decay or insect infestation in the way other materials may. The corrugated scaffold roof sheets can withstand very harsh weather conditions and also fire and extreme heat better than timber or asphalt products. These roofing sheets are lightweight product and easy to handle and install and will not put excessive strain onto the structure of a building.
This corrugated metal sheet is a quick install so it is ideal for covering larger areas in a short time, this is particularly useful when needed for temporary cover if a roof has been damaged by strong winds or storms. Additionally, the wavy design of the metal sheet gives efficient water run-off so will stop water building up.
These galvanised roofing sheets are a very popular choice for scaffolding companies when putting up a temporary roof with steel scaffold poles making up the framework and the metal sheets placed on the top at a slight incline and secured using roofing/corrugated sheeting couplers.
This type of metal roofing sheet is often used to build agricultural buildings such as poultry houses, sheds, barns and other animal enclosures as it is speedy to install and can give protection from harsh weather and sunlight, and from predators. Galvanised steel is very durable in nature and has a long lifespan when properly installed and maintained and the likelihood of rust forming is minimised. These are very cost-effective products for farmers.
Corrugated steel sheets are a very traditional-looking product, also known as CI Sheets (corrugated iron), wriggly tin, wrinkly tin, corry tin, sinusoidal profile, tin hat roofing, roof cladding, sometimes known as corrugated iron although they not made of iron any loner. Grooved steel sheets are also used as interior design materials as they have a rugged, industrial look that can be utilised as a design feature.
These sheets should be stored away from the elements and kept dry to prevent 'white rust' forming before they are used. The edges of these panels are sharp so gloves should be worn when handling.
